The Kardashian-Jenner homes have drawn attention recently for their proximity to areas at risk during the ongoing Los Angeles fires. While the family has been fortunate enough to avoid direct devastation, not all celebrities in the neighbourhood have been so lucky: Paris Hilton has shared the aftermath of her Malibu residence, destroyed by the devastating Palisades Fire. Other stars, including Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Miles Teller, Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, and Eugene Levy, are among those whose homes in the affected areas are part of the more than 12,000 destroyed in the fires.

Earlier this year, the Kardashian-Jenner clan took to social media to thank the firefighters and first responders for their brave protection and rescue work during the apocalyptic 2025 LA fires. Well-meaning as the gestures were – and the family did use its profile to raise awareness about key resources, donation drives and support groups, and Khloé even rallied against the establishment, criticising LA Mayor Karen Bass' handling of the fire crisis, writing: “Mayor Bass you are a joke.” – it opened up a can of worms… from 2022.
You see, in June 2022, the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District imposed a ‘Stage 3’ restriction on water consumption – and unprecedented 50% reduction – to provide for draught and emergency use. According to the notice, which was issued in May and June, outdoor watering would be limited to one day a week, with only eight minutes per station on the designated day. According to public records, Kim and Kourtney were fined by the Las Virgenes for exceeding their allocated monthly budgets by a staggering margin.
Kim Kardashian's Hidden Hills mansion and its adjacent plot together exceeded their June budget by about 232,000 gallons. Kourtney Kardashian's 1.86-acre Calabasas property went overboard by 101,000 gallons. It should be kept in mind that over 2,000 people in Calabasas and Hidden Hills were issued “notices of exceedance” since the regulation was put in place. Other celebrities included Kevin Hart (exceeded by 117,000 gallons), Sylvester Stallone (over by 230,000 gallons) and Dwyane Wade, who in May was the worst offender, clocking an excess of 489,000 gallons.

Originally a Mediterranean-style home, the couple transformed it with a signature palette of white and grey tones, resulting in a sleek, modernized aesthetic. The property, which featured five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and an infinity-edge swimming pool with a spa, sold for $17.8 million in 2017 to a Ukrainian billionaire.
Kim's most iconic residence remains her $60 million Hidden Hills estate, which she purchased from Kanye West’s share for $23 million in 2021. The 8-bedroom, 10-bathroom property includes a fitness room, spa, two swimming pools, two vineyards, a guest house, a recording studio, and a 1,050-square-foot entertainment pavilion. The 7,450-square-foot villa, previously owned by Cindy Crawford, sits on 3.18 acres with private beach access, wraparound decks, a poolside cabana, a tennis court, and a spa overlooking the ocean.
One of her most ambitious projects is a collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect (and Hollywood favourite) Tadao Ando on a futuristic, 42,000-square-foot mansion in Palm Springs. Inspired by a spaceship and described as “concrete, grey-toned, and really zen,” it embodies Ando’s trademark minimalism. However, construction has been stalled due to delays, with the city of La Quinta requesting further details on fire safety and pool codes. It must be noted that Ando's other Kardashian-related project – one that Kim's ex husband, Kanye (who now goes by Ye) bought – did not go to plan, with the rapper brutally gutting the property.

Ando isn’t the only starchitect Kim has enlisted. She’s also teaming up with Kengo Kuma, famed for designing Tokyo’s 2020 Olympic Stadium, on a lakeside retreat in an undisclosed location. The property, which according to reports features Kuma’s signature glass-and-wood naturalistic aesthetic, marks yet another bold addition to her growing portfolio of unique and ambitious projects.

Kris Jenner’s multi-million-dollar property empire includes a $20 million estate, which the business mogul purchased in 2020. Designed by a dream team of Kathleen and Tommy Clements and Waldo Fernandez, the eight-bedroom, nine-bathroom home interiors employ a neutral palette of whites and greys, softened with lush textures throughout, complete with a state-of-the-art gym, an eight-car garage, a piano room, and a lavish spa.
