This stunning Moroccan villa, which doubled as James Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s lair in the 007 movie Spectre, is in fact, located in lush Palmeraie, and not the Moroccan desert as the movie suggested.
This is not the first time that a stunning piece of architecture has played a pivotal role in a James Bond movie: From the iconic Giza Pyramids in Egypt (The Spy Who Loved Me) and the Taj Lake Palace in India (Octopussy) to the Villa La Gaeta in Lake Como (Casino Royale), buildings and locations have been central to the plot, often becoming a supporting character. But no place in the 007 legend is as iconic as the homes of James Bond, or even better (and grander), the homes of James Bond villains. And now, one of them is currently for sale through the John Taylor agency.
An architect-designed villa in Marrakech
The Moroccan property where Spectre, the 24th instalment of the James Bond saga, was partly filmed, is now on the real estate market. Located in the heart of the palm grove, the sleek and streamlined villa Dar Bianca spans 640 square meters. Designed by French-Algerian architect Imaad Rahmouni, the oriental residence is a striking example of modernist architecture: Made entirely of concrete, metal and glass, the Moroccan villa is set in 1.2 hectares of lush green gardens and features “a beautiful living area opening onto the swimming pool, a luminous fitted kitchen and 5 bedrooms, 3 of which have en-suite bathrooms,” says the real estate agency. The villa, bathed in light, has truly been designed as an ode to outdoor living.

A lush, exotic Moroccan garden
The generously proportioned villa is set in landscaped grounds surrounded by lush trees. Surrounded by palm trees, the villa blends in with its natural surroundings, offering living spaces that are as refreshing inside as they are outside. Although exceptional, the contemporary villa requires some renovation to restore its lustre. “With its contemporary lines, cinematic inspiration and Moroccan atmosphere, Dar Bianca is aimed at a demanding international clientele, passionate about architecture and seduced by the art of living in Marrakech,” concludes the John Taylor agency.
